Must See Attractions
Lighthouse Beach
As the name implies, a stately old lighthouse rises from a dramatic limestone cape to stand guard between shore and ship. The beaches here are serene and unspoiled, beckoning visitors to kick off their shoes and relish the warm pink sands.

Rock Sound
A beautiful seaside town laced with colorful homes, lush gardens, and friendly locals. Rock Sound is also home to Ocean Hole, a "bottomless" limestone wonder filled with tropical fish.

Devil's Backbone
Many a ship has tangled with this shallow coral reef that has more than lived up to its name. An excellent site for snorkeling and diving excursions.

Current Cut
This narrow channel has been rated one of the 10 best dives in the world. Divers and snorkelers alike can ride the current at a pulse-raising 7-10 knots.

Glass Window Bridge
At the narrowest point of the island, a window-like rock formation spans a gap where the turbulent waters of the Atlantic Ocean meet the calmer seas of the Caribbean. The existing man-made structure replaced a naturally-formed bridge that was blown away during a hurricane years ago, but the view is still spectacular.

Hatchet Bay Cave
Once a haven for pirates, the magnificent Cave at Hatchet Bay dazzles visitors with stalagmites and stalactites that gleam in the torchlight. The cave is approximately a mile long and is best toured with a guide.

Preacher's Cave
This large blue-shadowed cave temporarily sheltered Eleutheran Adventurers, the pilgrims who gave the island its name, and served as their place of worship. It is believed to be the site of the first Christian service ever held in the Bahamas.

Spanish Wells
An ever-popular day trip destination, Spanish Wells is just a short ferry ride from Eleuthera. It is here sailors came ashore from Spanish galleons to fill their casks with fresh water after long sea voyages. The people of this prosperous fishing village, known for their outstanding seamanship, are direct descendants of the Eleutheran Adventurers. There is excellent fishing and diving available, even a sunken train wreck for those seeking the unusual.

Hayne's Library
This historic landmark is host to several weekly social events. An internet café is available for those who just can't seem to leave the world behind.

Surfer's Beach
When you think of surfing, you probably envision Hawaii, or at the very least, the California coast. Eleuthera is also home to a winter surf spot that rivals the best of the best according to experts.

Gregory Town
Host to Eleuthera's famed Pineapple Festival, Gregory town is known for its fabulous food and famous pineapple punch. The Pineapple Festival draws visitors from around the world to experience celebrations including pineapple eating contests, the parade of the Gregory Town Marching Brass Band, fire dancing, a Little Miss and Teen Pineapple Princess pageant and junkanoo, the unique Bahamian musical street carnival.
